I was not a restless spirit from a young age, nor was I stuck with nature. Having grown up in the countryside just 2 km from mountains and sea I was slow to understand the magic of nature. The old saying goes “when you lose something, only then do you understand its value”. I could not differ in that.
Coming to the Capital for a better luck in the work sector, from the 1st weekend going back to the village I wondered maybe for the first time the mountains behind my father. It seemed strange to me that for so many years that I stayed and grew up there I had not visited them. The first visit to Mount Dirfis was not long in coming, then I learned that they call it “Little Fuji”. The beginning had been made… After I plowed Dirfi for good at first walking and then running on its paths training for Mountain running races, I began to know other mountains of Greece from the beautiful Zagorochoria to Taygetos.
The germ had settled for my good inside and we have been living together harmoniously for more than 10 years.
